TRUMPF Remote Operations Support

TRUMPF has introduced Remote Operations Support, a new service for automated laser cutting machine customers. The service connects experts in Germany with U.S.-based customers operating the TruLaser Center, a system that automates loading of sheet metal, laser cutting, part removal, and sorting.

Many fabricators run the machine during night shifts, but when it’s running unattended, small errors can cause big problems and lost production time. This service reduces the need for additional on-site staff to monitor the night shift, as a team of TRUMPF experts in Neukirch, Germany, remotely monitors the machinery in the U.S. and can intervene and resolve errors to keep the laser cutting system producing parts.

The company estimates that the average processing time to resolve a TruLaser Center machine standstill remotely is less than 15 minutes, and more than 50% of machine downtimes can be resolved remotely.
